BROWN SPOTS
Brown spots (age spots) are flat brown, gray, or black spots on the skin. They are also referred to as liver spots, senile lentigo, solar lentigines, or sun spots. They usually occur on sun-exposed areas and are a result of an excess production of melanin. Skin aging, sun exposure, or other forms of ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, such as tanning beds, are all possible causes. Morpheus8
Morpheus8 is a fractional skin treatment that stimulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis. The radiofrequency microneedling stimulates collagen to tighten, lift, and smooth out wrinkles on the skin of the face and body. It can also be used to treat acne and scarring.
SilkPeel® Dermalinfusion
This skin care procedure is designed to improve the appearance of skin with just one or a series of treatments. The procedure takes about 30 minutes, does not cause pain, and does not require any downtime. Similar to microdermabrasion, the SilkPeel® treatment involves the removal of outer layers of skin through exfoliation techniques. However, the SilkPeel® treatment differs from microdermabrasion because it employs use of various treatment serums specially formulated to treat specific skin conditions.
Fractional (Ablative and non-ablative)
With fractional laser technology, the laser penetrates only small areas of the skin, depending on the size of the laser beam. This allows the laser to penetrate the skin deeper than before without scarring. Fractional laser treatment takes about 30 minutes to complete, depending on the size and location of the treated area. Sculptra® Aesthetic

How does laser hair removal work?
Each hair grows out of follicles located deep in the epidermis. The colour of hair depends on genetics and hormones which control the action of melanocytes. Melanocytes, which are located at the base of the hair follicle, are responsible for the production of melanin which is built in the structure of hair. The laser energy produced by LuxR is absorbed by dark pigments in the hair follicles beneath the skin’s surface and it is converted into heat which reduces or eliminates the hair on the treated area. The body hair selectively absorbs laser energy while the intense flash of light with a filter appropriate for skin color and type cools the skin while the hair follicle is heated. This selective procedure damages the hair follicle and protects the skin at the same time which makes the procedure safe and highly effective.
The demand for intense pulsed light (IPL) hair removal and laser hair removal treatments is at an all time high. This is not surprising, considering that traditional hair removal via electrolysis or waxing is painful and expensive. Light based hair removal permanently reduces unwanted facial and body hair, in fewer treatments and with comfort than is possible with traditional procedures.

Laser Hair Removal
For women or men who want smooth, sexy skin without the hassle, pain, or inconvenience of shaving and waxing, laser hair removal is an effective option. One of the most popular treatments offered at Aesthetica, laser hair removal requires a series of 6-8+ treatments to achieve permanent results.
How it Works: Using a combination of light and energy, the laser targets the melanin that is produced in the hair follicles during growth. This is why multiple treatments are needed, as hair follicles are in different growth phases. During the weeks leading up to the treatment, no waxing, tweezing, or depilatory creams can be used, as this will remove the hair bulb. Laser hair removal treatments are quick and convenient, with no downtime after each session.
What to Expect: Patients should expect to receive an average of 6-8 treatments to achieve permanent hair removal. After treatments begin, patients will begin to notice the following effects: *Slower hair re-growth*Less hair*Finer hair

Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are a noninvasive procedure designed to promote healthy skin. Chemical peels are topically (skin) applied acids that aid in the rejuvenation of the skin’s surface. The peels are applied to the damaged skin and remove the damaged outer layer. The sensation ranges from slight warmth to prickly heat depending on the type of peel. The strength and depth of the peel will correlate with the downtime. In general the more effective the peel, the longer the downtime. Peels improve the appearance of the skin by reducing acne scars, uneven pigmentation, rough skin and freckling. Chemical peeling is a progressive treatment, and multiple treatments are recommended for a desirable result.
Most peels are not appropriate if you are pregnant or lactating. If you have a history of cold sores, please inform us as the sensitivity of the new skin may make you more susceptible to an outbreak.
Custom Facials/Dermaplaning
Upon consultation with your aesthetician, each facial will be specifically customized to suit your skin. Facials calm and sooth the skin while removing debris, cleansing, hydrating, and anti-aging.
Dermaplaning is a facial exfoliation treatment that carries the added bonus of removing fine vellus hairs, often referred to as “peach fuzz.” Our aestheticians use a straight-edged blade to gently remove the top layer of dead skin cells, revealing the brighter, smoother skin underneath. There is no downtime after the treatment, and dermaplaning can easily be combined with other facial treatments.
What can I expect from dermaplaning? Dermaplaning treatments are performed with a sterile blade being used to skillfully and gently exfoliate your skin. The sloughed-off skin cells and fine hair will be wiped away at the end of the procedure, revealing a fresh, vibrant skin surface. Your skin care products will be better absorbed and you’ll enjoy a smoother application and finish when applying makeup. Results are immediate, with optimal results achieved through regular maintenance treatments, as your skin regenerates new cells over time.
